Hi Fishsniffer, I fish some local Bass Tournaments with my Best friend Jay Holliday of Riverbank Ca. Jay picked up these bass in the Breadmans Tournament on 3/17/04 at Don Pedro Lake on a brown and green crank bait. One bass is 8.7 pounds and the other is 6.8 pounds. Thank you very much. Glen Jackson and his proud father, Hugh Jackson
Richard, This is a 20 pounder we caught on the Smith river March 1st. Glen Jackson, the young man holding it, hooked it in One Shoot Hole and landed it 3 holes down. Almost spooled us going out of one of the holes. This is a picture of Glen and his proud father, Hugh Jackson. We were using 15 pound P-line as the main line and 8 pound leader. The fish was 38 inches long and had a 19 1/2 inch girth. The picture really does not do it justice. Albert Kutzkey
Troy Wenzel Jr.
While on my son's first ice fishing trip, I said "wouldn't it be nice if a big 22" trout bit my line?" Well I moved and he stayed, catching the beauty. Kids have all the luck .the fisherman is Troy Jr. The fish was caught on powerbait /worm combo at Frenchman's Lake over 9" of ice. Troy Wenzel
Ramiro Delatorre
Hi, My name is Ramiro Delatorre and I was fishing on February 28th, south of the Dumbarton train bridge where captain Mike Zimmer of the Bottom Line positioned us. Our first cast of the day was baited with herring which sat still for about 15 minutes, about then my reel with the clicker on, started to sing. After locking the reel and setting the hook the fight was on! The fish took me for one wild ride around the boat and a couple of runs and about 20 minutes later the captain slipped a noose over my rod and cinched tight. The sturgeon lunged once more almost taking the captain overboard, dropping to his knees and holding the rope tight he got up and yanked in my first sturgeon. A fine 67 1/2 inch beauty, making me hooked for life.

Mike DuVall
Greetings, attached is a photo of a nice 14lb buck steelie I caught on February 13th, fishing the Chetco with John Pizza of The Fishing Guides Group. We used roe and puffballs side drifting. Great time and a great guide. Mike DuVall of Santa Rosa.

 Paul Baymiller
I was fishing the American River for Steelhead 1/30/04 using beads, yarn and alittle fresh roe, and only caught one little dink Chrome Steelie about 16 or so inches and all of a sudden Bam! My new Lamiglas rod suddenly bent all the way down and the beginning of a 20-25 min battle began as she immediately tore downstream into fast water and I thought I would end up riding her all the way down the river, wet and on my butt. She just didn't want to come home, and I didn't have a net. At one point when she got close to shore and I was getting her ready to be beached, I thought I had the Mother of all Steelhead seeing that it was the end of January, and it was still silvery and most Salmon caught at this time are real dark, and pretty hideous looking. As I reached down to drag her up on the beach I could see to my surprise, and kindof a disappointment, it was a salmon and still in good condition. Good enough for the smoker! -Tight lines, Paul Baymiller, Sacramento

Michael Devore
Hello, Fishsniffer, Big Mike (Michael Devore) a Tendermen Buddy of mine from Red Salmon Cannery in Naknek, Alaska, wanted me to take him fishing Sunday March 7, 2004. So, away we go to the Mothball Fleet. This was Big Mike's first time fishing for sturgeon and stripers. Only one little bite in the morning, but bam about 1:15pm a Nice Big Striper for A Buddy !! Glenn E. Williams

Tim Orr
Last year it was a huge crappie. In 2004, 10 year-old Tim Orr starts off with another NICE fish from Irvine Lake. Tim nailed this nice rainbow on a silver Kastmaster on February 8. With his hand in a cast, no less!

Matt Sumner on right
Here is a picture of my son, Matt Sumner. We were Steelhead fishing on the American River, by the Hatchery, on 2/15/04. We were with Senior Guide Jason Thatcher of the Norwest Executive Guide Service. Matt caught and released this 10 Lb. hatchery Steelhead. He was using a plug when he caught it. Regards, Mark Sumner

Mike Barbaccia
On Feb.1st, a few hours before the Superbowl I was fishing at Almaden Lake in San Jose. I was using a light pole with 8 lb. test throwing crankbaits for largemouth bass. Within 20 minutes I accidentally hooked into a huge salmon. After fighting this guy for about 30 minutes, I landed and released it. I estimated it being over 45 lbs. Thanks, Mike Barbaccia

Jason Mitchell, Dan Patrick & Chris Jonas

Who says that steelhead fishing shuts down in March? My friends Jason Mitchell, Dan Patrick & I of Napa were drift fishing the Smith River on Friday, March 5th. Myself and Dan each landed a 10 lb steelhead. We were feelin pretty good as these were nice fish, however, they were dwarfed when Jason hooked and landed a 25lb 12oz buck at Jedediah Park!! Only 1-1/2 lbs off the state record of 27 lbs 4 ozs. We were guided by Phil's Smiling Salmon Guide Service. Phil said this was the biggest steelhead caught on the Smith in the last 10 years. Tight Lines!! Chris Jonas

Greg
Took a friend out bass fishing in the south delta a couple weeks ago. caught a nice largemouth on the bank, tossin baby brush hawgs. couple minutes later I got slammed, wrapped around my trolling motor and broke off. I was heartbroken, thought I lost a monster bass. Backed way off on my drag, and turned the boat around and started again. Got slammed again, and after about a 10 minute drag rippin, boat turnin around battle we got this guy in the boat. What a surprise fishing shallow water with plastics! Greg

Doug
Hi Deborah, I had to email you guys as I caught the trout of a lifetime. I caught this 10lb trout at Lake Amador while bass fishing. The bass fishing was slow so I trailed power bait behind the boat about 50 feet in hopes of some trout action. I definitely got it when I hooked on to this guy. We had it to the boat about 6 times, then he would strip out all my line and we would start over. What a fish! My camera was out of batteries on the lake so had to wait until we got home to get a picture so the fish was not a perfect color as before but still a great fish. I weighed the fish on a very accurate digital scale and came out to 10.3 pounds. Thanks, Doug
