This cutbow-looking like a rainbow, but with the orange slashes of a Lahontan underneath, was caught and released on a #16 beadhead olive flashback on the Rosachi ranch, the catch-and-release stretch of the East Walker Riv in Nevada. I caught 2 doz fish that day-browns, rainbows & whitefish...Wiza
Mark Yasuda of Hayward, and Eric Newby
of San Carlos hooked up with these two girls on April 7, 2000. Mark's rainbow (left) was 9"8 pounds, and bit on powerbait. Eric's rainbow (right) weighed in at 12"6 pounds and hit a Kastmaster. Both were taken at Lake Chabot in Oakland. See what happens when you play hooky, instead of going to work! Just hope the boss doesn't see us!
To Fish Sniffer - This photo is evidence that I won the jackpot for the day while fishing with Shamrock Charters in Santa Cruz. The deckhand Curtis Craver said it is the biggest fish he has seen in this young salmon season. My fishing buddy also caught fish. All-in-all, not a bad opening day for us. And looking for more jackpot winners...Dennis Chan
Stripers to 12lbs. Anthony from New York, Lance & Wayland of Sacramento, caught their fish on bait in the Sacramento River while fishing with Guide Rene Villanueva of Steelie Dan's "Hook One" Guide Service.

Saturday, March 18, 2000, while flat line trolling for trout from a rented
boat at Lake Del Valle, I caught this 31 pound striped bass on six pound test line. I was using a Chrome 1/6 oz Luhr Jensen KROCODILE spoon. The
fight lasted 20 minutes. My brother Ray caught a 5 3/4 pound rainbow on a 3/16 Chrome KROCODILE spoon the same day.
Mike Bruno of Freemont was fishing at the south end of Clearlake when he hauled in this 13 1/2 pound fat cat. Mike fooled the cat with his secret recipe (aka dougball)!
Bob Monckton of Vallejo caught this Striper in the lower Napa River in early April, 2000. His 6 year old son, Justin, hooked a 58" Sturgeon which was landed with father and grandfathers assistance. Striper measured 45" and weighed in at the bait shop at 35#. Submitted by: Dennis Pangburn, Napa, CA.
While bank fishing along the San Joaquin River near Manteca, Lewis Q. Martin caught this beautiful striper in early April. After wrestling with the fish along the bank for about twenty minutes, both Lewis and the fish were
exhausted. The forty inch striper put up a great fight. His favorite bait was anchovy on a 30 pound Trylene line.
I caught this 70 pounder on a solo run to the honey hole. I was fishing with light tackle so this hog really manhandled my gear. She ran around the anchor rope and the boat twice. Then leaped clear out of the water three times right in front of the boat. Then on the last jump she tail walked for about 5 feet. Its nothing short of pure fun when you hook a hoglett like this on light tackle. My forearms are still aching....Eddie Green
