Hello my name is Scott Ellsmore, I moved from the Bay Area to Eureka 5 years ago, but have continued my subscription in the move. I still enjoy reading your articles and checking up on all my old haunts, and planning future trips. I have always wanted to send a picture in to be published, but have never taken the time to do so. I figured this picture might be ok. Pictured are two redtail perch I caught at Mad River Beach in early March. Perch fishing is a much underrated type of fishing, there usually is lots of action, beautiful scenery, and always that chance of hooking a big leopard shark in the crashing surf...Thanks

using an orange spin and glow with a little roe on the
Van Duzen river In Humboldt County, Feb. 12, 2005.
Kenny was fishing from the bank using a baitcaster
reel and G-Loomis pole.

Hey Sniffer: I'm a long time reader and first time picture submitter. On Sunday, February 20th, my friend, Troy Iaconis, caught his first legal Sturgeon at the Rio Vista Bridge using eel and grass shrimp on the incoming tide. I'm Damien Page from Concord, the short guy. My brother Jon Woltz from Benicia is the tall one. 8 rainbow trout Lafayette Reservoir in a boat to 8.5 lbs. Jon caught the big one but I had the best stringer, 1-2lb, 2-3lb, 1-5lb and a 7lber. What a day the fishing! I always read your mag because I know for sure it is the best magazine out there. thank you. Damien Page

Thought I'd send you a picture of a mack that I caught at Tahoe on 1/27/05. I was fishing north of Sand Harbor using a dodger and minnow on a downrigger at 120 feet. The mack weighed 13 1/4 pounds. Thanks! Rick Gutierrez
