    Fishing Notes:
  • Mooching is the method generally used for salmon fishing by both party boats and private boaters. Good areas include: Off the Soldiers Club, mouth of the Salinas River, Moss Landing, Soquel Point, Natural Bridges, and Davenport.
  • Trolling for chinooks is good in spring when the fish are scattered.
  • Halibut fishing is best in late spring, summer and fall in sandy beach areas.
