Gomez also weighed in the third largest bass in the event, a 3 pound, 2
ounce largemouth.
Kelly Dougherty and John West placed second with three fish totaling 7
pounds, 12 ounces. They used crankbaits to catch their fish - and won six
passes to the ranch.
Bob Borg and Dave Bates took third place with 7 pounds, 9 ounces and won two
passes to the ranch. They also caught the second largest fish in the
tournament, a 3 pound, 5 ounce largemouth.
Ray Carlton took big fish honors with a 3 pound, 9 ounce bass. He was
fishing a brown and black Pig-N-Jig with Neil Mathis when he hooked the
fish.
A total of 10 teams fished in the event, which benefited the Merced High
School Wrestling Team.
