Catch another keeper, and the Cul-M-Rite tells you if it's heavier than a
fish in your livewell. If it is, it tells you which color coded float to
retrieve. Switch the float over to the heavier fish and hold the 'enter'
button, and the weight is replaced.
Another key to the Stren Cul-M-Rite is its accuracy compared to other
scales on the market. We compared weights using the certified mail scales
here at The Fish Sniffer office, and found the Cul-M-Rite to be
consistently right on target, as opposed to some of the other less
expensive digital scales that almost always erred, one way or both ways, by
a couple of ounces or more.
Now Stren has raised the Cul-M-Rite's performance level by letting you
change the readout from ounces to tenths and hundredths of a pound! In
testing the original Cul-M-Rite that read in ounces, we found that
occasionally two bass would weigh the same, and a balance beam would be
necessary to determine the heavier one. Now with the digital readout in
decimal places, there's seldom a situation where a balance beam is needed.
Here's good news if the unit is out of your price range, but you would
still like an extremely accurate scale. Stren will soon be introducing the
new Stren Digital Scale. With a 50 pound capacity, this water resistant
unit will be a big step up in technology. The best news is the price; it
will retail in the neighborhood of 35 bucks!
