San Luis Frobay is on fire

If you want to catch and release a lot if 12-18 inch fish. We walked the bank at the end of the aquaduct check and tossed flukes on top of the weed line. The weeds are about 12-20 inches under the water. Used a 5/0 wide gap hook and a white fluke. Cast as far as you can and work it back in with a lot of action. The small stripers were exploding on them. We averaged 15 fish an hour. Key to success was keeping the fluke moving and just above the weeds. Did manage a few 20 inchers. Used a medium action bass rod with 10lb line. It was a blast. Get there early and have your walking shoes on. Its about a mile walk.

my cousins were there a couple of weeks ago fishing the aqueduct at the 152 and caught nothing. the current was moving way too fast and tons and tons of weeds. they were bait fishing with frozen covies. maybe it's better to use lures?

When they are letting water out of the upper lake the water rushes under the 152 bridge. Usually lures work well there if the water is running strong enough. Keep it off the bottom Wink.
