Delta 9-18

Fished Mildred Island area from around 7 am until about 12:30.  We  caught quite a few small fish and a couple that would go around 2 lbs. There were a few qr and ldr to frustrate us.   We used red eye shad and senko.  They seemed to prefer the 4 inch senko.  I was using the smoke with blue and gold and Jesus,Robert Jesus that is, was using watermelon with red and black.  They were about equal.

Hey OF, glad to hear you got on the water finally.

What sort of stage did you catch them in?  Shallow, deep, suspended, deep in weed cover, etc...

Most were caught in areas where water was flowing out of Mildred and very shallow.  I pulled a fish out near lost Island first thing from the outside edge with the red eye shad sexy shad color.  That bite quit very soon and we headed to Mildred.  Lots of Bass boats out today pre tourney I guess.  I'm sure if I had been able to fish more of my favorite spots I would have had more numbers but most of the time I would find someone already fishing the spot I wanted

I hadn't seen a report from you for awhile.  Glad you made it out but sorry the catching was not a little better for you this trip.  We are going to be up in Ft. Bragg this next week but when we get back, I plan on having a striper pole in the boat so if the bass bite is slow, I can swicth over.

I read a report on another board that of 11 boats fishing a tourney on the 19th  only two brought back limits,  Most had two fish barely keepers.

Thanks for the report Oldfisherman! I know the FLW college event was going on this past weekend. One team said they only had 2 keepers and had to check in by 3pm (it was 2:30 at that time). Ran in to Eric McFarland on Sunday and I think the FLW event is for this week. All in all, I was expecting more boats on the water but didn't seem too crazy.

Maybe it was you I saw you at one of my normal spots to check out so I just kept going. Glad you were able to get something out there!
