Fished Ruth for 3 days and it was pretty good fishing as usual. To bad you have to drive the "Hell Road" to get there.
The wind blew a little the first 2 days, so I only used one DR as I had my hands full trying to run two by my self.
I jumped int the boat at 6:30AM and had easy limits by 8:00Am.
The weren't that big, but averaged 14-18". All fish were caught at 30' in 50' of water. I used a Kens Custom tackle #15 micro flasher tied to a pink wedding ring, tipped with a little gulp alive night crawler or red worm and a little pro cure trout scent.
My other rod had a FWG copper king pink dodger, with either a FWG copper/pink spinner or a pink 1.5 apex.
I mainly used the flasher as it has so little resistance in the water.
The lake was fairly empty of boaters and fishermen, only a few of each. The RRA campground was nearly empty.
I also caught a lot of very large bluegill while fishing for trout, many were heavier than the trout.
My favorite time is usually mid September-October, the lake has cooled and I can retire the DR's and flasher/ dodgers.
Boat inspection was easy, but costs $30, plus $3 for a card lock key. I have spent about $100 on inspections at Ruth so far this Summer, which is getting a little tiresome and expensive.
I only took 2 pictures, one of some fish and one of the boat beached at RRA.
