Got to Bucks Thursday afternoon to meet rene who went up a day early to get a campsite(must be great to be retired  ) When I showed up he was telling me about a bear and his buddy that showed up in the middle of the night and raided his cooler of fish and food! I'm thinking great I'm sleeping in the back of my pick-up truck, this is gonna be a sleepless night I had of feeling. Since rene was bringing the food we were a little short so rick cuelo and john zemen invited us over for awesome beef and pork shiskabobs, we jumped all over that!! After a fine meal we headed back to the site to see our friends yogi and booboo and sure enough they were coming down the hill like clock work so i decided to give them a little troutwagon 101. I grabbed my light and  started at the bear as rene hit his car lights on him and hit the car horn. Ive never seen a bear move like he did, holy crap We scared the *(^%# out of him!! he took off busting branches like earl campbell busting thru the D-line. Never bothered us again  Still didn't sleep well!


Ok  bucks Kp morning 6am fish on 6:02am, like that all day long till 11:30 and it started to be more challanging. We switched gears and I put down for macks at 8am had on on with in 5 mins. 14" rat mack see ya, re-leased. 20 mins later a nice suprise with koke/mack double


a nice 13"er for the koke and a solid 2lber for the mack. Picked up another 15"er  mack and then at the end, we picked up yet another mack/koke double for our best mack of the day which was 2lbs 8oz. enought to give us first place in big mack. We also finished up in 7th place for the kokes. We had a great trip despite the bears. Buck's is a beautiful place to come in visit. Here's a shot of 3 limits of fish from the 3 day's we were there. There's only so much tiny kokes you can deal with!!

purple and pink were the hot colors
garlic scent and carp spit worked good in the corn
seps copper purple dodger w/ RMT pink-n-purple assasian spinner or pink/purple mario bug.
RMT purple/pink 50/50 dodger w/ purple apex UV and Kevorkian. pounded them all day long, this place is loaded with fish!! Rainbow point and in deeper water gave up our beat fish

for the macks Rainbow j-9 Rapala got out biggest fish and the kevorkian got the rest for the macks!!

Almanor

Well not much happened there , we stayed at our friends pete's house and fished for 4 1/2 hours sunday morning for 2 strikes and thats it!!!  Beautiful weather with great friend replaced the sorrow the fish gave me. We picked up a catfish trolling the east side eith slim willies flashers and a nite crawler. Well be back to almanor again soon, august is really not the best month, but the better ones are right around the corner!! See you all soon

I had a buddy from class that went up there 2 weeks ago and he also ran in to the bears and yes they got his cooler and when they chased him away he knocked down a tree right by them so be safe up there
