Trinity?
Aug 10th, 2009 at 9:42am

So I've been waiting to get back up to the Trinity due to work, etc. but I was wondering if anyone has anything new? I haven't seen many reports coming out lately and I'm hoping to do a Klamath/Trinity combo run soon. Any info. would be great.

Lots of spring run fish in the upper holes, fall run fish just starting to enter the Klamath.

That's good to hear. So would you suggest focusing more on the Lewiston area instead of Junction City?

Above Junction City until the fall fish start hitting the Trinity, but keep in mind that there's allot of pressure on the Dump Hole, Steel Bridge, Bucktail and Cemetary Holes right now, I prefer to wait for the fall fish, when I can fish anywhere I want plus, it's a free for all down to Del Loma.

The Indians are doing well in the Klamath right now. That tells me the fish are starting to show

Heading up today. Hopefully we'll get into some fish like our last trip in July.

Good luck Spartan. Now's the time. If you want to cast spinners, WORK HARD, and not be bothered by the crowds; You will be rewarded.
Forgot to mention, the heat , rattle snakes and poison oak Grin

Quick update: hit bucktail for the first time last night. One hookup saw a few salmon and a lot of steelhead roll but nobody else was there. We didn't fish long but I can see why that hole could be just loaded with fish at times.

I've seen better than thirty people trying to get on the Rock there.  It's about time to try downstream, below the North Fork.

I've also heard that Bucktail is now loaded with fish, but I still don't like fishing there, I like to have some room to cast.

update on buck tail...

the hoopa indians did their dance to celebrate pulling the nets and lines over the weekend so the fish are now free to move up...

the flows have come way down...as of friday the flows were back down to 450 from 950 the day before...

i stopped at bucktail and there was no one there...the rock was empty...i could not believe it...

cemetary hole is a different story however...there is a construction site just down stream of it...you can still get in there just watch for equipment...

please keep me posted on when you start seeing fish i cant wait to fish it...

Nice Photo of The Rock Moe, it somehow doesn't look right without Ralph perched on it.
