I wasn’t quite sure how things would go today with the just- full moon, cold, wind and rainy weather but it turned out just dandy.

I had to perform a delayed start , I had my lines in at 7:45. I pulled in my 5th fish at 11:45 just as the wind and waves got intimidating. I had been twiddling my thumbs the past 2 days waiting for the wind to die down. Tues I stayed too long and ended the day with a cluster up-chuck because I waited to long. The Pede will definitely kick your butt if you don’t respect exit times.

Today was another beautiful morning at the Pede Cathedral with clouds and fog rising from the baptismal waters. I had marked fish last Tues where they normally are suppose to be at this time of the year, in front of the island (s). So that's where I was.

I was marking most fish at 45-60' and brought most in at 55-58’ and the last at 38’ on the DR. Speed was .8-1.2 with lots of circle the wagons, goose and stall and zig zags. 4 of the fish came with the last 2 methods of travel.
The first fish came at 8:14 and the last 11:44, just in time to escape the wind. I would have been off at 10:15 but I botched a net job. 4 were good size in the 14+ inch range which is about the average good size this year. This is my 33rd day to The Cathedral this year (55th fishing day for 2009) and I have yet to land a 16”er. I had numerous 15+ but never a 16”er this year.
The first two came in on this setup

The next 2 on Keith's fine double spinner

The last fish came in on this setup

The males are just starting to turn, losing a few scales and morphing there mugs. But I think there is plenty of time. All in all an A+ day at Stampede.

Murph the man was out and did well. Great to see and talk with your Marty. I'll see you tommrow.

So was Keith Kerrigan in his newly painted boat, guiding clients. Nice color Keith and thanks for the tackle. I really like your hooks. ....YDM
