Ririe Limits 7.25

Fishing was fast and furious this morning with several sets of doubles. On at 6 and off by 7 am. Water temp 70, Air temp 65, Depth 42', color is red. The fish are beginning to turn and the aggressive large males were trying to rip the rod out of the holder attacking red hoochies!

We've had a pretty good year they are all around 15" with some above 16.

We fired up the main and ran 1 mile up and trolled back to the dock for limits. The fish are really aggressive! I started with Green on two rods and Red on two rods but the Red was just getting pounded by the big males so we switched to all red with Red Shoe Peg and let them put on the feed bag.

    Good job Don.  I guess all that cool wet weather has been good for the fishing.  only 42 feet otw.  It's almost 80 now here at New Melones.  I'll tow my boat over to Fort Bragg next week and fish for Rockies while I wait for the Eureka King season next month.

Nice job Don, almost the same story for us today as far as fast and furious, but we decided to hang a little longer until our fishing time exceeded our driving time to the lake Cool Wink

At spawning time red is a color of gray scale that they key on at depth for the obvious reasons. We always switch to red as the Kokes begin to absorb their scales.  Grin
