Already Home....New Melones 7/24

Back in Concord at 11:30 AM should give you an idea of the kind of bite we had.

It was, once again, off the hook. Had 2 limits to the boat right after 7AM. All nice chunks. Dennis had us on them from the "get-go"

I'll let Dennis fill in the details and I'll add pictures later.

Good seeing Mickey and Kathy out there. They were on the fish as well. (I'll share his secret when I post the pictures!)

Thanks for the report HH.  Man,  Melones has been on fire this year.  Getting packed up now to spend the weekend at Hell Hole, now I am wondering whether we should have planned to go to Melones Smiley Smiley Smiley

Dick, congrats on a good morning out  there with Dennis, glad to see that both of you got into some fish   Wink

If it were me and I was camping for the weekend, I would go to Hellhole, if I just wanted a morning of fish, I would go to melones. Too many drunk skiers at melones, not really family fun atmosphere, just my two cents worth.

Thanks smogguy and freon.  I think we are going to stick to Hell Hole and maybe just do a day trip to Melones in the nest week or so.  Smiley Smiley Smiley

Ok, here's the details...

Best depth(s) were 64 and 67.  RMT pink splatter dodger with a UL UV pink passion spinner, Kokanee Special scent 1.4 mph.  A close second was a RMT bahama mama dodger and a HH five of diamonds spinner.

Hoghunter, thanks for the great breakfast.  Oh, thanks again for the rod it's quickly becoming one of my favorites.

Freon,  When did atmosphere start to matter to you?

Bob,  No time for coffee, or even a Budweiser.  Not as many doubles as on Wednesday but a few times we had one fish in the net when the second rod released.  I think Mickey or Farrier Frank might call that a double.   Grin
